Some people prefer the performance of a strap-in, but I never felt like that there was a performance drop off that was significant enough to give up my step-ins. If you are more of a casual boarder, or maybe occasionally jump on the board to take a break from the skis, the step-in is worth considering. There are plenty of good reasons to give these a try for such short change. Maybe you have visitors who can't quite keep up with you on skis, so you take it down a notch and get on the board. Maybe you have little kids who want to learn to board and you're going to be on the blue groomers anyway.
